Judges 6:1-40 — God’s Faithfulness Amid Our Fears & Failures (Part 2)

In this sermon, Pastor Zack continues the introduction to the Gideon cycle in the book of Judges by looking at the second half of Judges 6. In this section we will see that, as is typical of Israel’s judges, Gideon is a man who does heroic things and is regarded as a man of faith. At the same time, he’s a man whose many sins and shortcomings are clear for all to see, pointing us forward to the ultimate Judge that was to come — the Lord Jesus Christ. As we look to Judges 6 and are introduced to Gideon and his call to deliver God’s people, we learn that, in spite of our rebellion, questions, objections, doubts, idolatry, and second thoughts — in spite of all of that and much more, God is faithful to save His people!
