Judges 6:1-40 — God’s Faithfulness Amid Our Fears & Failures (Part 1)

In this sermon, Pastor Zack continues our study in the book of Judges by introducing us to a new cycle in the book — the cycle of Gideon. In this section we will see that, as is typical of Israel’s judges, Gideon is a man who does heroic things and is regarded as a man of faith. At the same time, he’s a man whose many sins and shortcomings are clear for all to see, pointing us forward to the ultimate Judge that was to come — the Lord Jesus Christ. As we look to Judges 6 and are introduced to Gideon and his call to deliver God’s people, we learn that, in spite of our rebellion, questions, objections, doubts, idolatry, and second thoughts — in spite of all of that and much more, God is faithful to save His people!
