In this message, Pastor Kevin looks at Job’s third friend, Zophar, and his words of advice and counsel to Job about his suffering. In short, Zophar is telling Job that if he would confess his sin and turn back to God, then God would bless him greatly and all his troubles would go away. But there is a problem — Job is following God and has humbly asked for God to reveal any sin in his life. In the end, what Zophar says to Job does not minister to him, but creates further misery in Job’s life. As a result of Zophar’s words, Job once again wants to die. It is while Job contemplates life after death that we discover some great insights about Sheol that provide encouragement for those who are suffering.
