In this sermon, Pastor Zack looks at Amos 8:1-14 as Amos presents the fourth of five visions in this final section. In this passage, we see the vision of the summer fruit, signifying that Israel’s end is near, followed by a reiteration of the reasons for and the nature of the judgment to come. The end of the passage foretells the coming of a famine of the Word of God — a terrifying and ominous judgment for the people. Pastor Zack helps us understand what Amos is prophesying to the people of Israel in his day and how these things apply to us and our lives today.
