In this message — The Picture of Perfect Love (Part 1) — Pastor Kevin begins to unfold what it means for God to first love us. Though we often hear (both in the church and in the world) that God loves us all and that we need to stop arguing over doctrine and other things that create conflict, and instead learn how to get along with one another, this sermon reminds us of how important it is to first understand what the love of God is. He reminds us that the Apostle John is not just telling us in a vague and general way that God loves us, but that He loves us with a “perfect” love, and that makes His love a love that transforms all other kinds of love. Once we understand God’s love, then we can see how it is to shape the way we love God and one another.
