In this sermon, Pastor Zack begins the final section in the book of Colossians be looking at Paul’s command that we, as believers, would “Continue steadfast in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Why is it that Paul has to command us to “Continue steadfast in prayer?” One reason is because, so often, it seems that the easiest thing about praying is often quitting. It just seems so easy to give up. So reasonable to quit. Why is that? And how do we, as Christians, commit ourselves to this sort of continual, watchful, thankful, and intercessory prayer that Paul commands and models in these verses?
