Hebrews 12:18-24 — A Tale of Two Mountains — What Motivates You to Live the Christian Life?

In this sermon, Pastor Kevin helps us see why the writer of Hebrews used two mountains — Mount Sinai and Mount Zion — to contrast the differences between the Old and the New Covenant. These two mountains are ultimately a contrast and comparison of what a person experiences when they are confronted with God’s Law and then God’s grace. The order of these experiences — first the Law and then grace — is always the way a person comes to true saving faith in Jesus Christ. Or as pastor Kevin says it, “We must first hear the rumblings of the law before we can ever experience the rescue of grace!”
